hasta luego gateway

Can this motherfucking winter get any worse? Well, I’m sure it can, but let’s hope not.

My laptop crashed last night and to make things worse, in a fit of mad fury, I snapped it in half.

I had been having problems with it for a few years now, it had already crashed on me 2 other times. The last time it crashed I had to drag it to some asshole that charged me way to much for it to kind of work again:

The Asshole: "umm, yeah, those 2 drives will never work again."
My inside Voice: “umm, yeah, what the fuck did I just pay you for dick face”

Needless to say, I had had it with it. So I did what any rational person would do. Made it even worse so there would be ABSOLUTLY NO CHANCE of it ever working again. Makes Sense. Late at night, I felt really stupid about what I did. Really really stupid…and sad. Snapping my laptop in half didn't even make me feel better. Oh, and also, I had left it in the car and it was in the negative temps yesterday. I think that’s what did it, or if not, I’m sure it didn’t help.

FLASH BACK:
In grad school '05, I threw my printer from the front door of my house onto the street and smashed the fuck out of it with all my might. I jumped on it, kicked it, threw it up to the heavens and watched it fall, I even punched it. And OOOh, I felt so good. So, So, good. Not so much this time.

::WIGGLY LINES, FLASH FORWARD TO PRESENT TIME::

The only thing I lost was some work that Ben and I had done earlier that day; some music inventory for the gay band. It was quite a bit of work, but it’ll take like 30-45 mins to redo so that’s good. I had over 2,000 pictures, but they're all on my Flickr so that's good too. I had backed up all my files a month ago so I probably just lost a few updates on my resumes, contacts, Letter of apps, etc...

Other than that, everything else is okay. This past weekend 3 shows were closing that we had friends in and/0r just wanted to see:

Wednesday: we saw Titus Andronicus at the Court Theatre. Andy N. was in it AND I ran into Laura Miller, from Great Lakes Shakes, whom I did Guys and Dolls with at Porthouse. She said, "Heyyy, what are you guys doing here," and I said, "We live here, what are YOU doing here." It was soo great to see her. She’s fabulous and soooo nice! It was great to see Andy too.

Thursday: songs for a new world that the Chicago Theatre Building. Alanda C. was in it, Kudos on a job well done.

Saturday: Hair, a student production at Northwestern U. A fully supported student production: they had body mics, awesome lights (4 intelligent lights), a band, I mean it was crazy. At Kent we couldn't even get extra chairs for fucking Boo5. (bitter party of one, you're table's ready)

I've started another blog called, Best Blog Title Ever-The Reviews. I’m writing theatre reviews. Wanna see what I really think about a show? Let me know.

On Friday we went out with Jeff, the other Euphonium player, and his BF. Good times were had. I found a new drink, Bacardi and Diet Coke. It wasn’t that bad. I think I can get use to it. Low calories. (I’ve been working out and I gained 5 pounds, I hate my life)

Last night after working on the music library and before having a nervous breakdown on my laptop, Ben and I hung out with the girls, Eric, Michael, Stan, and Ross. (This is the part of the evening were my Laptop was freezing to death) We had a great time with the girls. I really love my new friends!

Oh, so I’m getting a new mac!!! EVERYONE WINS!!!!!!!
